A Giant Panda is a black and white bear which is the rarest animal in the bear family. These pandas are usually found in the mountains of Southwestern China. An average panda weighs around 200-300 pounds and is about six feet in length. These pandas survive by eating bamboo; an average Giant Panda eats around 25-45 lbs of bamboo per day. Their life span is 14-20 years. Its role is to distribute the bamboo which helps the Giant Panda survive as well as the bamboo because it can only grow if the the Giant Panda spreads the seeds.
There are only about 1,600 left and their status is considered as "critically endangered."
